Don’t like what you see in the mirror?

Thinking about visiting a med spa for help with those

Be careful when you choose a med spa.
Although modern medical techniques can produce dramatic cosmetic results,
possible complications can be much more serious than a bad haircut.

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery
offers advice for patients considering cosmetic procedures in a spa or salon:

• Physician on site.
  He or she should be at the location
  and available to respond to any questions or problems.
  Emergency care should be immediately available
  in case something goes wrong
• Pain Management.
  Discuss pain management options.
  Even minor cosmetic treatments can cause discomfort.
• Appropriate Facility.
  Cosmetic procedures are medical procedures.
  They aren’t safe in a home or hotel room.
• Price.
  Don’t rely on price.
  A deep discount on the cost of procedures
  often indicates you aren’t receiving the best treatment.

Patty Reiman writes about chemical peels in the Spring 2011 issue of “New You”:

Sad, but true.

And as if sagging weren’t bad enough,
we then develop deep wrinkles.

a blunt instrument.
