Time for a Peel?
I love peels.
Chemical peels
-
help even out skin tone
-
get rid of dark patches from the sun
-
rejuvenate your skin
What’s not to love?
Laura LoCricchio in the Detroit Spa Examiner says:
“Make sure that you are going to a licensed professional
that has experience in a variety of chemical peels.
Not all chemical peels are the same.
Chemical peels range from light to deep
and there are peels for specific skin issues
from acne to sun-damage.
To see real improvement in the skin
medical grade peels are the best.
Most peels have minimum downtime
and are spaced 2 to 4 weeks apart.
A series is always recommended for best results.
If your looking for a great way to improve tone,
texture, minimize sun-damage and fine lines and wrinkles
chemical peels might be the right choice for you.”
Do you want healthy, radiant, even-toned skin?

5 More Myths About Adult Acne
Acne is not something you take lightly.
“Clear up” your skin and lose
these misconceptions (pun intended).
Acne Myth 6: You can’t wear makeup if you have a breakout.
Some makeup can definitely exacerbate acne,
particularly thicker liquid foundations
that can clog pores and stage-type pancake makeup.
“But lighter, looser powder foundations,
like mineral powder, aren’t nearly as aggravating
to your skin,” Amy Derick, MD, FAAD,
a dermatologist in Great Barrington, Ill. says.
“Of course, people who have acne want to cover it,
and coverage is better with thicker liquids,
but you have to compromise.”
Acne Myth 7: Acne is just a cosmetic problem.
Acne can have lasting consequences
in how you feel about yourself –
and left untreated, or improperly managed,
it can leave permanent scars.
Acne Myth 8: You just have to wait and let acne go away with time.
There are many treatments now available for acne.
At Ageless Remedies SouthPark we can prescribe
the right products and treatment just for you.
Acne Myth 9: You can “clean up” a pimple by scrubbing at it.
That’s actually the worst thing you can do.
“People will spend hours trying to get goop
out of skin to heal the acne,”
Derick says. “But picking your skin
is the number one way of getting a scar.”
If you have a huge pimple and a big date tonight,
you can get a single injection from Dr. G.
that will reduce it. Don’t pick!
Acne Myth 10: If you’re an adult,
just go to the cosmetics counter
and get a good face cream or cleanser.
Oh dear. I wish someone would explain this to me.
I (used to) love going to the department store
cosmetic counter, too.
Now I know better.
How can you trust your skin to sales people
when you have a real problem?

Do you sometimes get a senior citizen discount
but you’re only in your 40’s?
HELP!!!
It’s never too late to start taking care of your skin.
I know it’s boring to keep nagging you,
but the skin IS the body’s largest organ.
THE BASICS

Professional skin care products that give you real results
-
Botox (injectable muscle relaxer)
-
Injectable fillers (Restylane, Radiesse, Juvederm)

Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation

Real anti-aging skin care means repairing, restoring, and protecting.
Most over-the-counter creams simply do not contain effective ingredients in sufficient concentration to give you the results you want.
Frown lines begone! Botox injections take, at most, 15 minutes.
Fill in deep folds. The effect is amazing. 10-20 years gone. I’m not making this up.
No surgery, no down-time.
Get that collagen working again.
Lasers get down deep and remind those cells what they used to do automatically – when you were in your twenties.
After that, those cells slooowww doooowwwn.
Sun protection? Do you really like fine lines and wrinkles?
This type of skin care doesn’t take a lot of time.
It’s well worth the investment.

The best anti-aging skin care products?
SERUMS
That means the effective ingredients
penetrate deeper.
Vitamins, antioxidants and acids in
serum form are more potent.
In New Beauty, Dr. Mark A. Blair
says:
“Serums are essentially a
vehicle for delivering anti-oxidants,
peptides, vitamins, retinol and
other anti-aging ingredients
into the skin.”
At Ageless Remedies SouthPark Med Spa
we love serums.

Are You Thinking About Mineral Make-Up?
Does your make-up make you break out?
Maybe you should switch to mineral make-up.
Benefits of Mineral Make-Up
-
Does not clog pores.
-
Has sun protection
-
Soothes skin
Here are some details:
The true difference from conventional makeup is
what’s NOT in mineral makeup.
No emollient oils and waxes, fragrance,
and preservative ingredients.
Those are the things that
cause irritation.
Your pores can breathe.
And here’s something I hadn’t thought about:
Unlike most makeup, the ingredients are inorganic,
which means that bacteria and microbes
cannot live in the makeup and infect the skin.
I love that!
Also, good mineral make-up is
extremely finely ground.
It feels like you’re not wearing any make-up.
Plus, it reflects light so you have a beautiful glow.
But Get Real
Just because mineral is good for your skin
does not mean it will cure your acne.
And just because it has some sun block
does not mean you are really protected
if you stay out in the sun for a long time.
And you still have to keep your brushes clean,
even though it is inorganic.
However, on the whole, why aren’t you using minerals?
Of course, we have the best mineral make-up at Ageless Remedies,
GloMinerals, Beauty With a Higher Purpose.
Come by and try it out!
