PROFESSIONAL SKIN CARE – Why Bother?

Think about going to the department store for a new lipstick
and maybe a moisturizer.
There you are at the cosmetics counter with a sales woman.

What are her credentials?
She was trained by one company.
She knows about that brand.
She probably knows a bit about skin and skin care basics.

On the other hand,

an Aesthetician is a professional

  • expert
  • specialized
  • qualified
  • experienced
  • knowlegeable
  • certified
  • licensed

Her education is ongoing. She is up-to-date
on the latest techniques and products,
and she has a lot of tools to help you.

Your personal consultant will analyze your skin,
talk with you about your concerns,
and work with you to develop a treatment plan customized for you.

Why?

Because your skin is not like anyone else’s skin.

You undoubtedly have your complexion challenges: aging (wrinkled, saggy, dull, tired,  skin), dryness, oiliness, dark spots, acne, sun damage, rosacea…)

Your professional aesthetician has experience with numerous procedures to improve the condition of your skin:

She will work with you to decide which remedy is most suited for you and your lifestyle.
Your aesthetician is your consultant.
You will see her each time you have a treatment and she will monitor your progress.
Furthermore, she has access to state-of-the-art skin care products from more than one company.

One size does not fit all.

Modern skin care takes advantage of the latest technology.  An aesthetic skin care specialist can explain how cosmeceuticals work and the results you can expect.

So, why should you invest time and money in YOUR SKIN?

  • Your face is the first thing people see.
  • How you feel about your appearance significantly affects your confidence level.  (You knew that.)
  • You care about your hair, your make-up, your weight, your clothes, your shoes! Please don’t neglect your skin!

EVERYONE DESERVES HEALTHY SKIN which is radiant, glowing, and youthful.

Don’t you agree?

Sincerely,

Ageless Elaine

MEDSPA NEWSFLASH

Radiant,young-looking skin

Radiant, young-looking skin

Wild guess:

You want to keep looking as good as possible, even as you get older.

In the DailyComet.com,  Dr. John J. Jones Jr., agrees:

“Most individuals are interested in looking their best,
and patients regularly ask for guidance in facial-skin rejuvenation.
There are many services, procedures and products today
that claim to remarkably improve one’s skin and restore that youthful look.”

At our medspa, we recommend you follow a customized skin care regimen.
In Dr. Jones’ words: “I have found the most successful treatment
is a combination of chemical peels, microdermabrasion,
… and a tretinoin cream or gel.”

You can achieve skin that

  • looks younger
  • is firmer and tighter
  • has fewer lines, wrinkles and discolorations

1. The Peel

“Chemical peeling is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles caused by sun damage,
aging and hereditary factors. In addition, pigmentation of the skin
in the form of sunspots, age spots, freckles and blotchiness
can be improved with this process.

An effective professional treatment is … (a peel to remove) unwanted damaged skin.
The chemical solution actually causes the upper layer of skin to exfoliate,
allowing new skin to regenerate.”

2. Post Treatment Home Care

“Post-peel treatment will enhance the results of your chemical peel.
It is very important that you wear sunblock after the deeper peels —
since the new skin is fragile and more susceptible to injury —
and that you use a tretinoin-based gel or cream on a regular basis.

The tretinoin cream or gel is a vitamin A derivative approved
for reducing the appearance of fine wrinkles, mottled darkened spots and roughness in skin.”

He is a an assistant professor at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.

MICRO WHAT?

Wednesday, March 31st, 2010

MICRO    DERM     ABRASION

Micro — extremely small

Derm — skin

Abrade — scrape away the surface layer

Why would you want to exfoliate the top layer of your skin?

  • To get rid of the dead skin cells on top
  • To show off the new, healthy skin and a lovely, radiant glow
  • To diminish the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and acne scars

That’s why.

And why would you want to get a professional microdermabrasion?

Because a professional skin care expert will determine the proper treatment for you, performed for maximal safety, comfort,  and results.

Polish that skin!

Radiant, Ageless,  Elaine

FIRST IMPRESSIONS?

First impressions actually improve your chances in many situations: education, medical care, legal issues, and, of course, ROMANCE.

Scientific evidence (here I go again) supports this fact: attractive people gain social advantages.

What does that mean for us?

Job interview, court trial, first date?  You can enhance your appearance with aesthetic treatments.

Bottom line: These improvements will increase your confidence.

And if you feel beautiful, you will BE BEAUTIFUL!

What do you think about all this?  Any New Year’s Resolutions?

DO YOU NEED A NEW SKIN CARE REGIMEN NOW?

Skin Care in Your 40’s

As you age, your skin needs change. To keep skin looking its very best, a woman’s skin care regimen should change to address the unique needs of each decade.

In your 40’s (and sometimes as early as your mid-30s), you may begin to notice some real changes. Gravity, genetics, and sun damage can lead to fine lines, age spots and the loss of elasticity. Premenopausal changes in the body are the prime culprits to skin changes.  In your 40’s, your skin’s collagen begins to break down and cells turn over more slowly. You may also notice your skin appears duller and drier. Fine lines begin to appear around the mouth and eyes. Issues such as rosacea, blotchiness and adult acne can also set it.  Not fun.

It’s time for Vitamins A and C.  You MUST exfoliate and you MUST use an anti-oxidant. Exfoliation is essential in your 40’s and on, because it increases skin cell turnover, revealing more radiant skin.

That’s what you want.

Antioxidants are useful as they are not only effective for preventive health, but they also correct cell damage, which leads to an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

You want this, too.

Professional exfoliation (microdermabrasion, chemical peels) should be part of your skin care regime. And medical grade skin care products, instead of over-the-counter kind, get real results, and do not cost any more than the expensive department store brands.

CALL NOW FOR YOUR FREE CONSULTATION and let our aestheticians get you started on your new skin care regimen for the new year: 704.364.3332

I’d love to know what you think  of this information or if you have any questions.

Medical Spas – From Imagination to Reality

Wednesday, November 18th, 2009

A medical spa typically offers services that provide a significant cosmetic enhancement without the drawbacks and pitfalls of surgery. Ageless Remedies SouthPark medical spa represents the fusion of healthcare and beauty. A visit here can help to maintain or restore the youthful appearance of your skin with procedures that normally require no recovery period or serious infringements on your day-to-day life.  In recent years the advent of new technologies has helped to make medical aesthetic services a potentially significant part of our lives.

Imagine taking time out of your lunch hour to stop by and have your wrinkles erased or to have unwanted hair permanently removed.  These concepts have gone from imagination to reality.

One of the newest technologies that can be found in some of the more advanced medical spas is skin tightening.  This procedure can yield incredible results when used on the face, neck, or abdomen to smooth wrinkled skin.

For deep wrinkles, we offer a laser service that will actually enhance the body’s production of natural collagen. The body produces collagen, which lends to supple and smooth youthful skin, at peak levels in our mid to late twenties. That production rate then diminishes as we age.

Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation with our Affirm Laser can actually stimulate your body to begin producing collagen at an increased rate, much like it did when you were several years younger.   True, it takes more than one treatment.  Typically, our clients sign up for 4 treatments ($3270).  Loving the results, they add on 2 more treatments.  And maybe more.  Not to mention additional areas (neck, chest…).

Not only do you avoid surgery, surgery does nothing for your collagen.

Can a forty year old woman really have the appearance of a thirty year old?  Check out my foto!  Do I look 63?  Personally, I don’t think so, yet I don’t have that “stretched tight” look of plastic surgery.

What do you think?

2003

This is me, not so Ageless, in 2003.  Note: frown lines, saggy cheeks, dull complexion.
