Ageless Remedies Med Spa and Laser Center’s Staff Featured!

Here’s what owner Elaine Greenberg says about the staff in Skin Inc.:

Our staff is the best.

They take pride in their accomplishments and so do we, the owners…
Everybody has a stake in the overall team performance.

Every Friday morning, we have a staff meeting.
Everyone is required to attend—estheticians, physician, front desk staff,
spa manager, owner/marketing director.
The agenda may be educational, keeping us all on the cutting edge
of technological developments, or open discussions about what we can do better
as a team…

Furthermore, product reps often come (with lunch) to present a new line
or review or update us on one we already carry.
Manufacturer reps/trainers come so we are up-to-date on laser
and IPL protocols. We offer microdermabrasion, chemical peels,
fractional laser skin rejuvenations, laser vein treatment
and laser hair removal. Additionally, everyone is encouraged
to use all the products so we can experience the results first-hand.

However, the most popular(events) are the quarterly celebrations.
When we have a successful quarter, we party.
We go out and eat, drink, and have a great time!

Soooo proud and happy!

Med Spa Tips: Winter Skin Care

Thursday, November 18th, 2010

Winter's Here

Winterize Your Skin!

Cold winter weather has arrived.
Dermatologist  David Green M.D.  shares these thoughts
for winterizing your skin to  maintain
glowing skin during the  harsh winter months.

Help your skin survive the winter season!

  • HYDRATE

During the winter months, your skin will be most susceptible to dehydration.
This is because cold dry air depletes your skin of moisture.
You may need to upgrade your moisturizer
or enhance your current moisturizer with a hydrating serum.

Time to check in with your aesthetician at our med spa
to adjust your skin care regimen.

  • EXFOLIATE

Yes, it is still important to exfoliate during the winter months.
Getting rid of those dead, dry cells in the outermost layer of your skin
will make it appear more radiant.  A professional microdermabrasion
or chemical peel package at our med spa  will
keep your skin healthy and glowing.

In addition, your moisturizer will penetrate more thoroughly
and provide greater benefit.

  • PROTECT

Use your sun screen.
Just because you are no longer  laying out by the pool
does not mean you are not exposing your skin to UV rays.
UV rays are present all year round.

Dr. Green’s got it goin’ on!

Seriously, following his advice will minimize the
potential damage that dry winter weather can do.

An Aesthetician: Your Beauty Expert

Anti-Aging and Aestheticians

Aestheticians, by definition, are skilled in giving beauty treatments.
Aesthetics, speaking philosophically, concerns the nature of beauty.
(aesthetician)

What Does an Aesthetician Do?

An aesthetician is a licensed skin care professional trained to use treatments for beauty and health.
I love that!

  • skin analysis
  • facials
  • microdermabrasion
  • chemical peels
  • laser treatments
  • make-up artistry
  • skin care regimes

What Does an Aesthetician Learn?

  • Anatomy (skin types, head, bones, nerves, cells, tissue)
  • Chemistry (compounds, ingredients)
  • Safety (special equipment, treatments)
  • Sanitation procedures (bacteriology, sterilization)

I am awed every day by the knowledge of our aestheticians.

Do You Want Healthy, Beautiful, Young-Looking Skin?

An aesthetician is your anti-aging expert!
From analysis, through treatments and product selection,
he or she can change the way you look
and how you feel about your appearance.

An aesthetician cares about BEAUTY!

The Smoothest Skin of All

One Way a Med Spa

Can Give You Smooooothe Skin

Dermaplaning is a special method of manual exfoliation.

I’ve already written about, for example, microdermabrasion.

Dermaplaning removes the outermost layers

of dead skin cells too.

But there’s one extra benefit: it also removes vellous hairs

(tiny translucent blonde hair) on the face.

It treats dull skin AND a fuzzy face!

Some of our clients notice that the vellous hairs
on their faces cakes their make-up
and actually attracts attention to the fuzz.

What’s a girl to do?

Dermaplaning is performed by a trained
aesthetician using a stetile surgical blade.

In case you’re concerned,
vellous hair cannot grow back thicker

because it is still vellous hair, not regular hair.

Frankly, I have become addicted.

Now when I get a facial, I always add on dermaplaning.

Question of the day:

Do you think we should offer a
“FREE Dermaplaning Add-On to Your Facial”
for a limited time to our Facebook Fans?

Tell me in the Comment Box below.

Exfoliation – Sound Boring?

Wednesday, July 7th, 2010

perfect skin
Check out this kid’s skin.
Radiant, healthy, plump, smooth, delicious.

Would YOU like skin like this?

A baby’s skin cells turn over often.
Sadly, our skin, starting at age 25,
does not renew itself nearly as often.

This excellent information is from SkinRejuvenex.com.

Why is Exfoliation Necessary
for Healthy Skin?

The epidermis, the skin’s outer layer is a protective coating of dead skin cells that forms when fresh cells made in the skin’s deeper layers push their way to the surface and die.

Though it isn’t widely known, our skin exfoliates itself
by sloughing off dead skin cells as new cells take its place.
However, as we age, this sloughing process slows down.
While we are young, cell turnover occurs about every 28 – 30 days.

By the time we are in our sixties, the process takes about
45 – 60 days, which results in a lack of freshness
and youthful look as the years go by.

In order to maintain a healthy skin, exfoliation is the key
by helping skin shed quicker than it would normally do.

  • Exfoliation Evens Out Skin Texture.
How do we help nature along at our medspa?
Vitamin A, microdermabrasion, and chemical peels.

  • Exfoliation Decreases Signs of Aging.
If your skin is loaded with dead cells,
wrinkles, lines and dryness are more apparent.
By exfoliating and removing this dead skin,
your skin will immediately make your skin look brighter and fresher.

  • Exfoliation Helps Prevent Breakouts.
Dead skin automatically clogs up your pores.
This means that oil and dirt will get stuck underneath the surface of your skin.
The result of this would lead to breakout of pimples, whiteheads and blackheads.
By exfoliating you are helping your pores stay clear, while preventing breakouts.
    Gotta love it.

  • Exfoliation Minimizes Dark Spots
Pimples and blemishes can heal as dark spots on the face.
A brown, red or purple mark may remain.
Often it is assumed this cannot be cleared.
By exfoliating, you remove the top layer of the skin,
diminishing the presence and appearance of the dark spots.

Do you want your skin to look Delicious?  Better exfoliate!
