Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
Comments, I get comments…
Ageless Elaine often hears from professionals in the aesthetics field
via LinkedIn.
Here are some comments I received on my post
“Breaking Up Is Hard To Do”
about the importance of having skin care professionals
evaluate your regimen when it no longer seems effective.
From a Physician
I’ve seen far too much damage done to skin
by people that persist in products that do not work,
or worse, start increasing the concentration.
A more likely explanation for no improvement
is continued skin aging which may call for
an entirely different approach
rather than burning the skin
with a higher concentration of acid or harsh chemicals!

From Other Writers in the Aesthetics Industry
I’m not an esthetician, but have the utmost respect for them…
I think that the more information and education
is made available to the consumer, both the industry,
its practitioners and consumer all benefit…
thanks for the helpful hints and reminders…

Wonderful insight! I’ve found that about 30% of the time
when someone tells me a product doesn’t work
its because they are not using it correctly.

From a Chemist
Dear Elaine,
Increasing the concentration of an active ingredient
is not the answer. More is NOT always better.
Furthermore, there is a sensitivity threshold
for people with sensitive skin AND for clients with acne.
Human skin most certainly gets used to products.
No one ever needs to switch away from
their favourite cleanser or toner,
but treatment products which follow
should be adjusted seasonally, as well as intermittently
in order to continue producing results.
I don’t know how else to support
this except by 20 years of experiential proof.
Sincerely,
Soraya Ali-Hope, B.Sc. Chem.
