What Laser Hair Removal Can Do For You

  • No more bumps, redness, irritation, infections
  • No 5 o’clock shadow
  • No more embarrassment

That’s what Georgia told us.

Before

Georgia is a 34 year old Caucasian female who had a medical condition that caused her hair follicles to become ingrown, form painful  cysts, and get infected.

After

No more hair follicles.
Problem solved.

Georgia is ecstatic! She can now wear tank tops, not to mention bikinis.

How Do Med Spa Anti-Aging Treatments

Keep Your Skin Young?

This is basic to understanding why we do what we do.

If you’re a gardener or a nurse, you’ll get it right away.

First We Wound Your Skin

Sounds crazy.
But we have to wake up all those cell processes
that have gradually slowed down since we turned 35.
Of course, it’s a controlled wound:

  • Chemical Peel
  • Microdermabrasion
  • Vitamin A
  • Fractional Laser

Then Your Skin Heals Itself

Hello!
Cells are now aware something is wrong.
They get to work again, just like when you were younger.
The result: healthy, fresh, young skin.

I couldn’t make this up.

Trim the rose bush.
Debride the wound.

Are you exfoliating regularly?

Anti-Aging: Prevent Wrinkles After 40

Healthy Lifestyle, Healthy Skin

Do You Want To Prevent Wrinkles?

Some highlights from a great article on Vibrant Nation:

Is This You?

Until the age of 30 you didn’t think about using
anti aging skin products.

But few women make it past 40 without seeing
the first few fine lines…

Now you are starting to worry
about changing their skin care regimen.

Get to Work!

Starting and maintaining a regular skin care routine
can help keep your skin looking healthy.

  • Cleanse
  • Moisturize
  • Use an anti-oxidant
  • Exfoliate
  • Protect from the sun

This routine does not take
a great deal of time.

Do it.

Invest

You have to break down and buy some stuff.

  • Anti-wrinkle creams contain ingredients
such as retinoids like Renova and Retin-A.
Aside from retinoids you can look for creams
that contain alpha hydroxy acid or hyaluronic acid.
    Use this at night.
  • Anti-oxidants fight free radicals. Use at night.
  • Good sunscreen.  30 SPF.  UVA, UVB

Eat Well

What  you eat or don’t eat has a definite effect
on the health of your skin.

Studies have shown that vitamins A, C, E,
carotenoid-rich fruit and vegetables
along with the minerals zinc and selenium
can help skin stay soft and smooth by reducing free radicals.

Keep in Touch

Take a close-up foto.

Take another one in 5 years.

Write and tell me how great you look!

Chemical Peels

Excellent Anti-Aging Treatments

What is a Peel?

A peel is an accelerated form of exfoliation
induced by a chemical agent.

But – All Peels Are Not Created Equal -

And – All Peels Do Not Have To Peel

Should You Get Chemical Peels?

Probably, because here’s what peels do:

  • Exfoliate
  • Stimulate  epidermal growth
  • Destroy specific layers of damaged skin
which is then replaced with normal skin
  • Stimulate fibroblasts with more collagen

I love peels!

Do you?

Med Spa Advice: Comments

Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Comments, I get comments…
Ageless Elaine often hears from professionals in the aesthetics field
via LinkedIn.

Here are some comments I received on my post
“Breaking Up Is Hard To Do”
about the importance of having skin care professionals
evaluate your regimen when it no longer seems effective.

From a Physician

I’ve seen far too much damage done to skin
by people that persist in products that do not work,
or worse, start increasing the concentration.

A more likely explanation for no improvement
is continued skin aging which may call for
an entirely different approach
rather than burning the skin
with a higher concentration of acid or harsh chemicals!
Dr Marguerite Barnett

From Other Writers in the Aesthetics Industry

I’m not an esthetician, but have the utmost respect for them…
I think
that the more information and education
is made available to the consumer, both the industry,
its practitioners and consumer all benefit…
thanks for the helpful hints and reminders…

Wonderful insight! I’ve found that about 30% of the time
when someone tells me a product doesn’t work
its because they are not using it correctly.

From a Chemist

Dear Elaine,
Increasing the concentration of an active ingredient
is not the answer. More is NOT always better.
Furthermore, there is a sensitivity threshold
for people with sensitive skin AND for clients with acne.

Human skin most certainly gets used to products.
No one ever needs to switch away from
their favourite cleanser or toner,
but treatment products which follow
should be adjusted seasonally, as well as intermittently
in order to continue producing results.

I don’t know how else to support
this except by 20 years of experiential proof.

Sincerely,
Soraya Ali-Hope, B.Sc. Chem.
