Med Spas — The Future is Now

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010
Great skin!

Do YOU want to:

Eliminate signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles?
Keep your skin healthy and young-looking?
Clear up your acne?
Achieve even skin tone?
Look your best?

In the “old days,”
like when I was your age,
your choices were either lotions and potions
or ablative peels and surgery.

Now med spas provide a middle ground.
Medical aesthetics blends medically based procedures:
non-invasive cosmetic improvements.

WHY is this meaningful for you?
BECAUSE you can achieve the results you want
without surgery.

Many of your skin problems can now be solved
with the use of lasers or other energy-based devices
when in the hands of well-trained and qualified professionals.

Also, science-based cosmeceuticals are now
impressively advanced technologically
and work at the cellular level, not just
on the surface.

It sounds like science fiction.
But the future is now.

Lasers:

  • Remove unwanted hair
  • Diminish brown/age/sun spots
  • Tighten skin, stimulate collagen !!!!!

Medical Skin Care Products:

  • Exfoliate dead skin cells (so your skin really is younger again)
  • Protect against free radicals
  • Provide serious sun protection
  • Grow your eyelashes !!!!!

Med spas and laser centers solve problems.

What bothers you the most about your skin?

Skin Care in Your 40’s

As you age, your skin needs change. To keep skin looking its very best, a woman’s skin care regimen should change to address the unique needs of each decade.

In your 40’s (and sometimes as early as your mid-30s), you may begin to notice some real changes. Gravity, genetics, and sun damage can lead to fine lines, age spots and the loss of elasticity. Premenopausal changes in the body are the prime culprits to skin changes.  In your 40’s, your skin’s collagen begins to break down and cells turn over more slowly. You may also notice your skin appears duller and drier. Fine lines begin to appear around the mouth and eyes. Issues such as rosacea, blotchiness and adult acne can also set it.  Not fun.

It’s time for Vitamins A and C.  You MUST exfoliate and you MUST use an anti-oxidant. Exfoliation is essential in your 40’s and on, because it increases skin cell turnover, revealing more radiant skin.

That’s what you want.

Antioxidants are useful as they are not only effective for preventive health, but they also correct cell damage, which leads to an improvement in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

You want this, too.

Professional exfoliation (microdermabrasion, chemical peels) should be part of your skin care regime. And medical grade skin care products, instead of over-the-counter kind, get real results, and do not cost any more than the expensive department store brands.

SCIENCE CONFIRMS WHAT WE ALREADY KNOW!

Dark Chocolate is Good For You
Dark Chocolate is Good For You

Eating dark chocolate lowers your stress level.
So now there’s a study to confirm it:
This new study shows that eating
dark chocolate may lower levels of
stress hormones in people feeling
stressed out.
Researchers found that eating t
he equivalent of one average-sized
dark chocolate candy bar (1.4 ounces)
each day for two weeks reduced levels
of the stress hormone cortisol.

ENJOY!

‘TIS the SEASON to EAT CHOCOLATE :)

If You Are NOT Doing These 3 Things, START NOW!

Monday, February 16th, 2009

No, this isn’t the usual — cleanse, tone, and moisturize.  We all know that.

This is about taking your skin care to the next level, the NEW BASICS.

  • Every day you need to apply an anti-oxidant.

Here’s why:  You need to protect your skin from free radicals in the air.
Vitamin C, in some form, is perfect, but so are other products.

  1. Healthy Apple, Healthy Skin

    Healthy Apple, Healthy Skin

This is your skin WITH Vitamin C:
healthy, plump, fresh, delicious.

So, apply an anti-oxidant daily.
Our medical aestheticians will help you choose the correct one for you.
My personal favorite is SkinCeuticals C E Ferulic
http://www.agelessremediessouthpark.com/Skin-Ceuticals .

2.   Apply sun-block every day.

No excuses.  Full spectrum.
Oh, you say, I drive to work.  No need.
Please compare your left and right hands,
or the left and right sides of your face.
See what I mean?
Those teensy freckles only get worse with time.
They become age spots.

3.  Apply a form of Vitamin A , or some exfoliant, every night.

If you are over the age of 20,
your skin is no longer turning over
and replenishing itself at the same rate.
Help it along.
Vitamin A is no longer the nightmare it was
when I was 35, making your skin red, flaky,
and painfully sun-sensitive.

Technology has improved these products and,
again, your aesthetician will help you choose the best one for you.

This whole, grueling routine takes about 5 seconds in the morning, 3 seconds at night.

START NOW!
Take a close-up photo, or, if you’re at our spa, we’ll take one for you.
Take another in 3 months.

And then let me know how you’re doing.
