HydraFacial

Do You Want The Best?

Charlotte’s Only HydraFacial MD

The Latest Technology

The Best All-In-One Facial Treatment

What is the HydraFacialTM?

It is the newest breakthrough in skin resurfacing technology.
It’s available only to physicians.

The Hydrafacial does all this — SIMULTANEOUSLY:

  • Cleanses
  • Exfoliates
  • Extracts
  • Hydrates
  • Nourishes

What Can You Expect?

  • Improved acne-prone skin; less oily
  • Refined skin tone & skin texture; reduced under-eye puffiness
  • Hydrated skin; improved suppleness & elasticity of skin

How Does It Work?

It exfoliates dead skin cells and extracts impurities
with a vacuum-based skin abrasion tip
while simultaneously bathing the healthy underlying skin
with active serums that cleanse deeply, exfoliate thoroughly,
hydrate completely and provide residual antioxidant protection.

When you leave, you look amazing!
And the glow lasts for days.

I want one every week.

Honestly,

Acne problems?

Acne:

What’s the Latest?

Timing is everything

Well, first of all, some Hollywood folks are somewhat misleading
when they imply that you can cure acne overnight.

If  only.

But with a combination of therapies
you can expect incremental improvement.

Acne Treatment

  • Don’t compromise the skin’s natural natural protective barrier.
    Use only a gentle cleanser.
  • You still need to moisturize to maintain the skin’s barrier –
but make sure your product is  oil free.
  • Chemical peels are great.
  • Topical Vitamin A

Bonus Points

  • Avoid the sun.  It’s easy to go from zits to dark spots
    (post inflammatory hyperpigmentation)…
    but you knew that.
  • Use mineral make-up.  Mica is a helpful ingredient.
  • Consider dietary supplements:

    elemental zinc
    nicotinamide
    folic acid
    copper

Questions?

Let me know.
We helps lots of people with acne.

Concerned about aging?

Guidelines for Anti-Aging Skin Care Challenges

as You (Gasp!) Age

Here’s what Judith Newman writes in September’s Allure:

Life’s big moments are written all over your face –
but you can erase the lines, spots, splotches and blemishes
that come with them.

Go Judith!

Some highlights that a medspa can help you with:

New Job

Stress, wearing more make-up, and a new routine may lead to putting
your skin care regimen on the back burner.

***DANGER! This may result in temporary acne flare-up.

***SOLUTION: Get serious about cleansing and exfoliating.
See an aesthetician for the best products and professional treatments
such as deep pore cleansing facials and/or chemical peels.

Wedding

Sure-fire recipe for stress.

***
DANGER!  Waiting until the week before to prepare for that radiant, glowing look.

***SOLUTION: Implement serious skin care regimen
six months ahead.  See your aesthetician to discuss if peels are appropriate, too.
Ageless Elaine’s daughter says her skin was fabulous on her big day
due to a series of peels!
Be super vigilant about using your sunscreen.

Pregnancy

Hormone city.  How your skin reacts is quite individual.

***SOLUTION:  Check with your aesthetician about which
products and treatments are safe.

Have you experienced any skin problems due to life’s changes?

What did you do?

Did it help?

Let me know.

Med Spas — The Future is Now

Wednesday, October 6th, 2010
Great skin!

Do YOU want to:

Eliminate signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles?
Keep your skin healthy and young-looking?
Clear up your acne?
Achieve even skin tone?
Look your best?

In the “old days,”
like when I was your age,
your choices were either lotions and potions
or ablative peels and surgery.

Now med spas provide a middle ground.
Medical aesthetics blends medically based procedures:
non-invasive cosmetic improvements.

WHY is this meaningful for you?
BECAUSE you can achieve the results you want
without surgery.

Many of your skin problems can now be solved
with the use of lasers or other energy-based devices
when in the hands of well-trained and qualified professionals.

Also, science-based cosmeceuticals are now
impressively advanced technologically
and work at the cellular level, not just
on the surface.

It sounds like science fiction.
But the future is now.

Lasers:

  • Remove unwanted hair
  • Diminish brown/age/sun spots
  • Tighten skin, stimulate collagen !!!!!

Medical Skin Care Products:

  • Exfoliate dead skin cells (so your skin really is younger again)
  • Protect against free radicals
  • Provide serious sun protection
  • Grow your eyelashes !!!!!

Med spas and laser centers solve problems.

Acne Myths: The Truth (continued)

5 More Myths About Adult Acne

Acne is not something you take lightly.

“Clear up” your skin and lose
these misconceptions (pun intended).

Acne Myth 6: You can’t wear makeup if you have a breakout.

Some makeup can definitely exacerbate acne,
particularly thicker liquid foundations
that can clog pores and stage-type pancake makeup.
“But lighter, looser powder foundations,
like mineral powder, aren’t nearly as aggravating
to your skin,” Amy Derick, MD, FAAD,
a dermatologist in Great Barrington, Ill. says.
“Of course, people who have acne want to cover it,
and coverage is better with thicker liquids,
but you have to compromise.”

Acne Myth 7: Acne is just a cosmetic problem.

Acne can have lasting consequences
in how you feel about yourself –
and left untreated, or improperly managed,
it can leave permanent scars.

Acne Myth 8: You just have to wait and let acne go away with time.

There are many treatments now available for acne.
At Ageless Remedies SouthPark we can prescribe
the right products and treatment just for you.

Acne Myth 9: You can “clean up” a pimple by scrubbing at it.

That’s actually the worst thing you can do.
“People will spend hours trying to get goop
out of skin to heal the acne,”
Derick says. “But picking your skin
is the number one way of getting a scar.”

If you have a huge pimple and a big date tonight,
you can get a single injection from Dr. G.
that will reduce it. Don’t pick!

Acne Myth 10: If you’re an adult,
just go to the cosmetics counter
and get a good face cream or cleanser.

Oh dear.  I wish someone would explain this to me.
I (used to) love going to the department store
cosmetic counter, too.
Now I know better.
How can you trust your skin to sales people
when you have a real problem?
They are trying to sell you their product.
Please go to professionals
who have much more knowledge and
many more tools in their arsenal
to customize treatment just for you.

Check out the links below
to learn how we can get you real results.

If you suffer from old acne scars and pitting,
Laser Treatments diminish them.
