Not Just Another Pretty Face
Botox is manufactured by Allergan,
which has initiated several philanthropic campaigns:
“BOTOX® Cosmetic: Express Success”
In honor of working women, Allergan donated $250,000 to Dress for Success.
This organization helps disadvantaged women succeed in the workforce.
Vanessa Williams says:
“As a working woman and actress, I know how important it is to ‘look the part’
when interviewing for a new position or in any professional setting.”
“Open Arms:
Raising Awareness of Upper Limb Spasticity”
Allergan has joined forces with Henry Winkler
and 5 national patient advocacy organizations
to address the low awareness and under-diagnosis of upper limb spasticity.
“Happy Days” star Henry Winkler is personally familiar with the impact
that upper limb spasticity can have on a person.
His late mother struggled with the condition, without treatment, for 10 years
following a stroke before she passed away.
Mr. Winkler explains:
“Much less was known about upper limb spasticity during her time,
and now, not only do we know more about how to manage this condition,
there are treatment options available.”
“Botox Dreams” for Cervical Dystonia
National Hockey League’s Rem Murray tells his story:
“I had been playing in the NHL for eight years when the symptoms
of what later would be diagnosed as cervical dystonia (CD), began.
I had difficulty keeping my head from shaking and pulling to the side,
which worsened steadily until my head was pulled all the way to the left.
The constant and involuntary contraction of my neck muscles
resulted in such unbearable pain, I found it almost impossible
to drive a car, read to my children, or even watch a movie.
I certainly couldn’t play hockey, so I had to quit the sport I loved. Thanks to my healthcare team, I received an accurate diagnosis,
prompt treatment with BOTOX®, and the right physical therapy.
With all this and the support from the folks I love,
I was able to return to hockey,
and the thrill of playing in the 2006 Stanley Cup playoffs.”
“Your Personal Best”
Five-time gold medalist, Nadia Comaneci, and nine-time gold medalist, Mark Spitz,
joined Allergan, Inc. , in 2008, in a consumer education campaign
to inspire men and women to achieve their own personal best –
be it through diet, exercise or by improving their personal skin care routine.
They traveled the country to share tips on how they remain at the top of their game.
Most people recognize that they feel their best define their personal best as a combination of
- feeling their best
- looking their best and
- fulfilling their responsibilities
I agree.
How about you?
