Fractional Laser Skin resurfacing with the AFFIRM laser is the newest form of treatment for skin tightening, improving fine lines and wrinkles, acne and accident scars and skin stretch mark reduction.
The AFFIRM laser also is helpful for reduction of unwanted areas of skin pigmentation from sun damage and Melasma. During the laser skin resurfacing procedure, our Affirm laser is used to stimulate and mold collagen in the damaged skin layer. A smoother, tighter, more uniform skin appearance is achieved.
The procedure may also be referred to as Fractional Laser Skin Rejuvenation
because of its anti-aging benefits.

Please note, however, that this is not a single session treatment. Improvements to the skin’s appearance will appear gradually over the course of weeks or months.
With Fractional Skin Rejuvenation, the laser beam is broken up or fractionated into many small micro-beams. These micro-beams are separated so when they strike the skin surface, small areas of the skin between the beams are not effected by the laser and left intact. These small areas of untreated skin promote a much more rapid recovery and healing with less risk of complications. The small areas treated by the fractional micro-beams, called micro-treatment zones, cause sufficient laser treatment to promote new collagen production and resultant skin rejuvenation.
A very exciting aspect of Fractional Skin Rejuvenation is that unlike older ablative laser resurfacing techniques, the new Fractional Skin Rejuvenation Lasers appear to be safe to use on darker skin for Asian Skin Rejuvenation and African American Skin Rejuvenation.
This makes the latest skin rejuvenation techniques available to millions of people with dark skin who could not be safely treated with previous skin rejuvenation techniques.
Fractional lasers are able to penetrate much deeper than traditional lasers and we are discovering that deeper penetration of the laser produces a much more dramatic stimulation of new collagen formation which translates into a plumping effect on the skin. This is particularly useful in treating pitted acne scars.
